"Shiver Me Timbers!" Hunting a haunted Caribbean treasure, Scrooge is guided by three ghost pirates' disembodied hand, foot, and eyeball!

Solicits have gone up so I now I can finally officially announce that -- in addition to dialoguing/transcribing for Uncle Scrooge (and also Donald Duck!) -- I will also be a regular cover artist!

I know I did stuff for Boom's run before, but this really feels to me like my first TRUE Disney cover. I really have to thank my editors David Gerstein and Sarah Gaydos for this opportunity to have the chance to both write for AND now draw some of my favorite characters growing up. (Now if only I could move forward on some other fronts....) ;)

My style has changed a lot from the Boom days (thank goodness). I'm using Giorgio Cavazzano as bit of inspiration for my my work on the ducks, mostly because I've always loved his expressive and fluid style of drawing the Disney characters. Of course there's also some bits of Barks and Rosa in there too, but my ultimate goal is to use what I'm learning from all the various duck and mouse masters to develop a style that is truly my own. Ultimately, I don't want to want to ape anyone prior, but use what they've mastered to learn and grown in my own natural way. If that makes sense...

Anyway, technical stuff -- as you can see, Donald's general body shape, as well as the ship itself changed from the pencils to the finals. Those were Disney's notes and I really think that the changes they suggested were for it the better in the end.

Colors are by my old Boom running buddy, Jake Myler: :iconlazesummerstone: who I think did an amazing job.

If you haven't seen this months Disney solicits (specifically Donald Duck's where I didn't draw the cover but did transcribe the lead story inside) you can find them here:…

I'm really, REALLY happy with how this came out. I can't wait to show you guys more stuff! Enjoy! :D (Big Grin)
Sonic the Hedgehog #268 Variant Cover by jongraywb
Sonic the Hedgehog #268 Variant Cover
Oh hey, solicits went up last night so I guess I can upload this now. This is the pencil work and finished colors for the STH #268 Variant (which will be my second Sonic cover).

This one's important because features the first real (and long overdue) appearances of two very rare characters (1 game, 1 cartoon) to the comics.

Concerning Honey the Cat (2nd card down) -- because she's such an incredibly obscure character, proper model sheets don't exist of her -- like at all. And the actual extracted game model (Sonic the Fighters) is a blocky mess of barely discernible 90's Sega Saturn polygons. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I screwed up her hair and ears (missing the ponytails and hair barrette thingies entirely)  in the pencil phase due to shoddy referencing and didn't catch it until the coloring phase. Thankfully, it wasn't too hard to fix digitally.

Concerning Breezie the Hedgehog (holding the cards) -- Breezie's new design (I'm certain someone will probably upload a full shot of it later) came from numerous sources, primarily Ian Flynn and Aleah's Baker's general ideas, my drawing of an initial design based on their description to start the ball rolling (done on a sticky note during lunch of all things lol), Vin's tweaking of said sticky note, Ben Bates' head notes (we applied the hair/spine design from his take on her to my suit design) and minor tweaks from all the mentioned parties going forward until we came up with a proper finalized model. I think you'll be pleased with how she looks given her execution (none of which I will spoil) in the comics VS her execution in the few episodes of cartoon she appeared in. It was fun taking one of the Milton Knight's many oddball  "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" character designs and applying a more Segasonic twist to it. :)

Also, if you look'll see that I finally managed to get Mama Robotnik on a cover.

And really, that's the only thing that matters. Enjoy! :D

Inks: Terry Austin

Wise From Your Gwave! by jongraywb
Wise From Your Gwave!
This is a fun little thing that's the current header for Sonic Super Special Magazine #12! I was asked to do something different since this was for the issue that celebrated the anniversary of the Sega Genesis so I chose to do select characters cosplaying other characters from classic Sega games:

* Ristar - Representing his own game is Ristar as himself. I wanted to draw Kaiser Greedy also, but didn't have enough room given the header size. Oh well. :(

* Representing Altered Beast
Silver the Hedgehog as Zeus
Sonic the Werehog as The Werewolf

* Representing Streets of Rage
Blaze the Cat as Blaze Fielding
Marine the Raccoon as "Skate" Hunter

* Representing Shinobi
Espio the Chameleon as Joe Musashi
Charmy Bee as Hotsuma

* Representing Golden Axe
Rouge the Bat as Tyris Flare
Shadow the Hedgehog as Ax Battler
Chuck the Hedgehog as Gilius Thunderhead
Knuckles the Echidna as Death Adder
(I could've easily switched the roles of Shadow & Knuckles but for some reason I just didn't want to. :P)

Hope you enjoyed it! Also, feel free to check out the issue because I have an interview in the back in addition to my quarterly column! See y'all next time.
Hiya gang!

Lots of new updates today including a rather big one that I've sat on for almost five years. Only a few of my friends have ever seen it. Look for "Crisis of Infinite Hedgehogs"

Beyond that I've uploaded a lot of other Sonic and Disney related material that I've never really released till now. Hope you guys enjoy them! Later :)

Gah, I remember when you drew a few of the older comics I have. It was so awesome.
I think one of them included issue number 134. Very infamous and heartbreaking issue for me :I
