WDCS 704 - The World to Come 2 by jongraywb WDCS 704 - The World to Come 2 by jongraywb

ANDROSS!!!! (If you don't know that ref, go play more Star Fox) :)

This project was the second of two covers I'd done for Boom's Disney Comics, illustrating Andrea Castellani's (Casty!) "The World to Come". While I wasnt really that happy with the final translation, overall he's really an excellent Mickey scribe and I'm pleased with how the cover itself came out (I think the hands should be a bit bigger or something though). :)

This cover depicts Mickey Mouse, his oddball human sidekick from the far future (don't ask), Eega Beeva and their biggest nemesis: "The Rhyming Man" - whose head looms over the duo and the planet in the background.

The original Rhyming Man story is one of the creepiest and darkest MM stories I've had the pleasure to read. he's pretty much a nearly-invulnerable super villain who talks completely in rhyme and is a sadistic world conquering monster with his own personal secret army at his beck and call. So yeah. He's kind of a ass. XD

Mickey Mouse has this great array of villains who have never really been explored outside of Pegleg Pete and the Phantom Blot. One of these days I really should draw Mickey's half-brother Oswald and the Shadow Blot if I ever get the chance.

The colors are by the phenomenal Jake Myler - [link] - whom I spoke of on the previous cover.

And that's that! Hope you enjoy it.

Nice cover!
You should definitely draw Oswald. And the Shadow Blot too, which was the reason why I got the Epic Mickey game, I like the character design for Shadow Blot a lot. ;)

Epic Mickey was surprisingly awesome, but I haven't been able to get into the sequel

"Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!" ;) I can quote cult-classic games to!

People who are only familier with Mickey via his pre-schooler show on the Disney channel, need to see stuff like this. ;) This goes to show Mickey can be "dark," and "epic" while still being the loveable cutesy Mickey he always was.

Great comic cover art, Dubs.

That's great but keep Oswald in his current old school look that just suits him. Plus Pete's been more of an anti Hero these days or at the very least a really peeved off guy

My thoughts exactly. I'm holding for a toon series, movie or even game when these villians are brought to life outside these pages.

But hey, these comics will do for the meantime. :)

Looks fantastic. I really like the expressions on all of the characters and Jake Myler did a great job on the colours.
Rythming Man sound like a very interesting villian.

Mickey Mouse has a lot of villains who have never made it to the small screen, which is really a shame.

Pete's been kinda losing his villain edge lately, almost like he's going back to the way he was in Goof Troop. Plus after what he goes through with Peg I can see why Donald and Mickey never made it official with Minnie and Daisy

Ya, it would be cool to see a Mickey Mouse cartoon that's like the comic.
